The Hercules factory was founded in 1886 and had been producing light motorcycles since 1928. In the 1930s, the company was one of the largest manufacturers in the Nuremberg two-wheeler industry. Engines from Fichtel & Sachs were installed in the Hercules chassis.
The Hercules Prima was a moped series from the Nuremberg Hercules factory and was built until 2005. The vehicles were assembled from parts produced in-house and purchased components. In addition to the basic model, the Prima (1), a further six models were produced. These differed mainly in terms of engine type and different equipment variants. The “Optima” moped series was derived from the Hercules Prima series. These are technically identical to the Prima 5S and differ only in the engine.
