Ein starker Funke für eine saubere Verbrennung.
Im Verdichtungstakt wird die Verbrennung des komprimierten Kraftstoff-Luft-Gemischs durch einen elektrischen Funken eingeleitet. Aufgabe der Zündkerze hierbei ist, diesen Funken zu erzeugen. Er entsteht durch die von der Zündspule erzeugte Hochspannung und springt zwischen den Elektroden über.
NGK SPARK PLUG wurde 1936 ursprünglich als ein Hersteller von Zündkerzen gegründet. 1975 wurde die erste Tochtergesellschaft in England gegründet und damit begann der Betrieb in Europa.
