The velocipede factory Carl Marschütz & Co. is probably better known today as Nuremberg Hercules Werke. In 1886, the Marschütz brothers founded the company and produced mainly bicycles until 1928. From this time on, the production of small motorcycles became profitable again, due to the exemption from driving licenses and taxes. The Hercules factories had been using engines from Fichtel & Sachs since 1930.
